Donate to a Great Cause

If you have enjoyed reading about our little misadventure, maybe you could show your appreciation in the form of flattering remarks about how fit we look in our photos. Or better yet, you could donate to L’s fundraising page for the Guide Dogs Victoria.

When we first started dating in Australia L was a volunteer at Guide Dogs, helping the organisation do incredible things in providing men and women with vision impairment find independence and support in their lives. L has always been dog crazy, if you were to judge by the amount of photos and snapchats I’d get in a given day of the labradors she worked with. Then she took me along to a media event for International Guide Dogs Day. She’d work with the litters of puppies up until they left for the long road of training to become working dogs. I got to meet her favourites (all of them), the trainers, and the people who used fully trained guide dogs in their daily lives.

Her enthusiasm made sense once I saw firsthand how important the Guide Dogs was in providing a better life for people with vision impairment. It’s a fantastic organisation and one we’ll continue to support in the future.

Once we start the walk I hope to take wonderful shots along the way on my film camera. If they turn out in the way I hope, and if they appeal to readers, let me know, as I would like to set up something where donations receive photographs taken, developed and sent from France or Spain, depending on where we are. How’s that for a sweetener? Donate to a fantastic cause and you’ll get a postcard and photo? I’ll figure it out along the way.
